This 40-minute journey will take you into the heart of Getxo, Santurtzi and Portugalete. And you can hop on and off at any of the three stops on the route.

* The last stop on this service is in Portugalete, regardless of where you choose to set out from.

El Abra and the Bilbao Estuary
(Ticket valid for 24 hours)

This full 160-minute trip will take you from the El Abra bay upstream along the famous Bilbao tidal river to the capital of Biscay, where you can admire such emblematic monuments as the Vizcaya transporter bridge (the Puente Colgante) and the Guggenheim Museum. The boat stops in Portugalete, Santurtzi and Getxo, to allow you to see the sights in each town, and has an onboard audioguide service which provides a fascinating insight into the area’s history and peculiarities in several languages.

– Standard fare: 19 €

– Reduced fares:

    Over 65s: 12 €
    Children up to 10 years of age: 12 €
    – Toddlers from 0 to 3 years of age (inclusive): : 1 €

Notes:

    – In the months of April, May, June and October, the last trip to Bilbao will only be offered at weekends and on bank holidays.
    – In the months of January, February, March, November and December, trips will only be offered at weekends and on bank holidays (the last trip to Bilbao will not be offered)
    – In the morning trips (Portugalete-Santurtzi-Getxo-Portugalete) the direction of travel will be different to that taken in the afternoon/evening (Portugalete-Getxo-Santurtzi-Portugalete)
    – On days when cruisers are due to arrive at the Getxo marina, trips will commence at 8:45.

 

ONE WAY TRIP

It is possible to book a one-off ticket for one single one-way trip to or from Bilbao.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How can I buy a ticket?

Tickets can be bought in two ways :
1.- On our web page.
2.- Tickets will be sold 5 minutes before departure at any of our piers, subject to available places.

Please remember to choose the correct day, route and time.
Seats are not numbered. Tickets bought online therefore guarantee your place BUT NOT YOUR SEAT. (Places are not guaranteed for times not shown on the ticket)

Can I get off a boat and come back on the next one?

Yes, the Hop on/Hop off system lets you get off and on the boat at any stop.

How long is the ticket valid for?

Tickets for both routes are valid for 24 hours, although places are only guaranteed for the time and place specified on each ticket.

How long before departure do I have to be at the pier?

To ensure punctuality at our stops, pier boarding gates will be open until 5 minutes before each departure.

How long are the trips?

The El Abra route takes approximately 40 minutes.
The full Bilbao Estuary and El Abra route takes approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes

Are animals allowed on the boat?

Small-medium sized dogs may travel at a fare of 2€. However, they must be kept on a lead and muzzled, otherwise they will not be allowed onto the boat.

Are children’s prams and pushchairs allowed on board?

Yes, they are.

Are there any special offers or discount fares?

We offer a 10% discount on the purchase of ten or more tickets, either online or on the boat.
